Twenty-twenty may have been a difficult year for theme parks, but 2021 has some of the most-anticipated new Orlando theme park attractions.

While 2020 was difficult for theme parks, the most-anticipated new Orlando theme park attractions could bring more guests to the City Beautiful. As the theme parks have navigated reduced attendance levels and safety protocols, many people are ready to step through the turnstiles again. These new attractions could be their reason to make a visit.

As people begin to come more comfortable with travel, theme parks are gearing up for a return to what they do best: provide exciting, immersive experiences for their guests. While some attractions were put on hold for 2020, the new year looks to bring some of the most exciting attractions both in story telling and thrills.

Here are 2021’s most-anticipated new Orlando theme park attractions.

Jurassic World VelociCoaster

As Universal Orlando has finished construction and has begun testing on the new Jurassic World VelociCoaster, thrill ride enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the opening date. Although the barrier walls still block a complete view, the new thrill ride looks to be one of the most exciting attractions at Universal Orlando Islands of Adventure.

While many people will speak of the 155 foot tower and the 70 mph speeds, the location of the track makes it quite exciting. Located on the lagoon, rides will twist and turn over the water. From hanging upside down to outrunning those danger predators, this theme park ride will quickly become the most popular attraction at Islands of Adventure.

Additionally, Universal Orlando is building on its immersive queue experience. Similar to the storytelling in its other new rides, excitement builds from the moment that guests cross under the entrance. Even if you don’t step onto the roller coaster, you will want to experience the queue.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

The beloved Pixar movie, Ratatouille, is coming to life at Epcot. As Disney Parks reveals more and more details about the dark ride located in the French Pavillion at Epcot, it will be a tasty adventure for foodies of all ages.

While Disneyland Paris has a similar attraction, the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in Epcot adds a new spark to the theme park. Although many people will anxiously await the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, this theme park is a must for foodies. From the tempting aromas along the way to stepping into that iconic kitchen, it will be an experience to ride over and over again.

Ice Breaker

SeaWorld Orlando has evolved to be a leader in extreme thrill rides. While Manta and Mako have many fans, the new Ice Breaker coaster brings an icy chill to Orlando theme park.

Originally scheduled for a 2020 opening, Ice Breaker is ready for its big debut. With a 93 foot-tall vertical and four launches, rides will need to brave these heights. While arctic cold is brutal, the thrills that this experience offers are equally chilling.

Iron Gwazi

Reimagining part of the old Busch Gardens Tampa Gwazi ride, this hybrid roller coaster will become the tallest and the faster roller coaster in Florida. If you can handle the 76 mph and a 206 foot drop, this roller coaster will be waiting for you.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

Although not a theme park specific attraction, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is probably one of the hottest tickets in 2021. Otherwise known as the Star Wars hotel, this Star Wars experience will be a must for the die-hard Star Wars fan.

While the hotel experience does come with a hefty price tag, it is slated to be the most immersive Star Wars experience yet. From lightsaber training to a special entrance to Galaxy’s Edge, it could be the most coveted Star Wars experience.

Other new Orlando theme park attractions are on the horizon, too. From the Tron Lightcycle to the re-imagined Splash Mountain and even the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, there are many more attractions slated to open. While opening dates are undetermined, the new year looks to bring more guests to Orlando theme parks.
