Original Charmed stars Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs took to Instagram Live to talk about how they could see the series returning to our screens.

Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs Ryan recently met up on Instagram Live to talk all things Charmed, including their thoughts on a new project that would unite the original cast of the beloved witchy drama.

While there’s been speculation for months that the cast would come together to possibly do a Charmed movie for Netflix, there hasn’t been any official news. However, that didn’t stop the two actresses from talking about what they would like to see happen with their onscreen family, the Halliwells.

When a fan asked the question about whether or not they would do a Charmed movie, Combs Ryan answered without hesitation that she would. McGowan was more reluctant to commit but said she would be a part of it if she got to be a director. Combs Ryan said she would have to take that up with Shannen (Doherty) because that’s what Shannen is doing these days.

So, the intent appears to be to include all four of the main sisters in the planned project. Combs Ryan went on to say that the main challenge in moving forward with a Charmed reunion isn’t getting the actresses to come back (all four main actresses have stated that they would return for something like this in the past), but finding a production company to back the project.

Combs Ryan went on to say that she humbled by the show’s legion of devoted fans and would love to do something special for them, like a movie. She brought up Netflix as a possible candidate to help bring the project to life, because “everyone wants to sell to Netflix.” The streaming network is already well-aware of how popular the series continues to be, as Charmed is consistently one of the top binge-watched shows on the platform since it was added in 2011. That popularity prompted CBS to try its hand at doing a reboot, which failed to get off the ground. The recent reboot from The CW has been met with mixed reviews and seems to have little to do with the original series outside of its namesake.

Now that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been canceled, we can’t think of a better, timelier show to take its place than the original Charmed, reimagined as either a reunion movie or a limited series with Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty, Rose McGowan, and Holly Marie Combs. Your move, Netflix.
