The Last Of Us Part II went from a May release date to delayed indefinitely. Now, Sony has announced a new release date that’s earlier than expected!

When The Last Of Us Part II was delayed indefinitely at the start of April, we all assumed the worst. The best case scenario seemed to be that we might to see it around Christmastime this year. It’s already been delayed once, so what’s once more? Even if it’s a little more open-ended than before.

If I may dust off an old chestnut: Good news, everyone!

Sony announced on Monday that it has an updated release date for The Last Of Us Part II: June 19. Which is about six months earlier than everyone was anticipating, right? This announcement also came with an updated release date for the highly anticipated Ghost of Tsushima, which will now be released on July 17.

This is good news, especially since this is the second delay for the game. Naughty Dog is known for their perfectionism with their games, so delays are nothing new. But who could have anticipated a pandemic to derail things even further?

Worry no more, fellow gaming nerds! Technically, the game has only been delayed a few weeks, which is a ray of hope in these dark times. It’s all about enjoying the little things.

Besides, this will give you plenty of time to get all of the achievements in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Or all of the achievements in the Resident Evil 3 Remake. Or getting your island to a five-star rating in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

It’s been a solid few months for gaming, which is always a good thing. Sony keeps amping up their game, pun somewhat intended, from announcing two free games for PlayStation 4 owners to giving us a release date for two highly-anticipated games. They really seem to be on a roll.

And that’s really only a good thing for video game connoisseurs. At the very least, this helps spread things out for the rest of the year. We have a month between The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima, and Cyberpunk 2077 in September.
