At long last, the trailer for Killing Eve season 3 is here – and it promises an (early) return full of separation and surprises.

Rejoice, Killing Eve fans! Season 3 is almost here – and it’s coming sooner than you think.

BBC America (finally!) dropped the trailer for the buzzy female assassin drama’s third season, which would be exciting enough news on its own. But the network also announced that the Season 3 premiere was being moved up by two weeks, to Sunday, April 12, rather than its original broadcast date of the 26th.

This is primarily due to the fact that AMC series The Walking Dead is wrapping up its tenth season earlier than anticipated. (Production on the popular zombie drama has been shut down in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic that’s got most of the entertainment industry on hold at present.) Though Killing Eve is a product of BBC America, parent network AMC began simulcasting the popular drama in season 2, and plans to keep doing so during the series’ third season.

And no more zombies, means an earlier return for lady assassins and spies. I’ll take it.

Season 3 already sounds as though it’ll be something a bit different from the series’ first two outings. For the first time, it appears as though we’ll see both MI-5 agent Eve Polastri and sociopathic assassin Villanelle attempt to live without one another.

Sure, this is because Villanelle thinks she shot Eve to death, while Eve is in hiding out of fear for her life, but still. It’s a legitimate separation, and a time in which both women are trying to get on with their lives without the mutual cat-and-mouse game they both enjoy so much.

Of course, this can’t last – not for the least of which reason that Killing Eve is so much more electric when stars Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh share a screen together. The season 3 trailer even tells us as much straight off.

Of course, these two will eventually find their way back into each others’ orbits. The only question has ever been how.

Next. It’s true: Jodie Comer’s performance on Killing Eve has no equal. dark

Killing Eve season 3 premieres on BBC America on Sunday, April 12 at 10pm ET. Stay tuned to Culturess for updates and theories about what we can expect from the new season.
