The Loki series coming to Disney+ added a new member to its cast with Richard E. Grant. Who he’ll play is still up in the air, but here’s everything we know so far.

Any news about Marvel’s Loki series coming to Disney+ is surprising given how tight-lipped both Disney and Marvel love to be about the show. But that simply makes this news even sweeter. Oscar-nominated actor and Star Wars and Spice World (let’s be honest, Spice World is the more important of the two) alum, Richard E. Grant will be starring in the Tom Hiddleston-led series.

Do we know who he’s playing? Absolutely not! Marvel only likes to give one piece of information at a time. According to IMDb, Grant will be in the premiere episode in early 2021 and then be in the five episodes that follow.

As Loki has been reported to be about the lord of chaos jumping through time and changing history, it will be interesting to see how Grant’s character fits in. Will he be playing the villain? Or an ally? It’s hard to imagine Loki with a true friend, but maybe Grant’s character is there to help him out.

Grant is not the only big name to be added to the cast recently either. Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Sophia Di Martino have also been announced, but once again, we do not know who they’re playing. Will we know before the release of the snow? Probably not, but with Marvel and Disney, who knows?

This is certainly not Grant’s first role in a sci-fi film, or even a Marvel one for that matter. He was recently in The Rise of Skywalker as General Pryde and played Dr. Rice in Logan. Beyond who he’s playing, it’ll be interesting to see how he transforms into the role.

He wasn’t nominated for an Oscar for anything. Even in Spice World, he became their manager. He stood out even among The Spice Girls. That’s not easy!

I cannot wait to see how he takes on this role and honestly, his casting makes me even more excited for a show I already couldn’t wait for.

Next. How will the Guardians of the Galaxy factor into Thor 4?. dark
