Spider-Man: Far From Home clip shows Spidey and Mysterio are practically BFFs

Jake Gyllenhaal shared a clip of Spider-Man: Far From Home featuring Mysterio and Peter Parker. Once again, it looks like Spidey and Mysterio are BFFs.

The advertising for Spider-Man: Far From Home is really trying to sell the idea that Spider-Man and Mysterio are going to be best buds for life. And honestly, I’m almost starting to believe them. Blame it on the mere exposure effect, but the recent clip for Far From Home really makes you wonder.

Mysterio actor Jake Gyllenhaal shared the video on Instagram and (heads up), if you’re not on mobile, you may want to zoom all the way in so you can properly see the clip.

In the video, Mysterio finds Peter Parker, who seems upset, disappointed, and distressed that he’s wasting his time on vacation saving the world. He confides in Mysterio by saying, “It’s really nice to have somebody to talk about superhero stuff, you know?” And it would be a sweet moment, if only we weren’t suspicious of the man he’s talking to.

Here’s the thing, we’re sure Quentin Beck may have good intentions as Mysterio on Earth 616 by forging a friendship with Peter Parker. But at the same time, Peter (and honestly the rest of the world) are at a vulnerable moment in time.

While it may have been five years since the snap, half of the population has just returned to this new world. And Peter, especially, is so extremely grief-stricken over Tony Stark’s death. In a few of the trailers (especially the scenes on the jet with Happy), you can see how wrecked he really is with Tony Stark gone. Tony was Peter’s mentor, and that means Peter will have to look out for himself from here on out.

If things take a turn and Mysterio ends up being the bad guy, shame on him for taking advantage of Spider-Man. In one trailer, we even see Spidey making Mysterio an Avenger. Call it official or not, but that shows Peter’s really put a lot of trust in Quentin. We’re sure Peter can handle himself, but do we have to call the A-Force to help Peter kick some butt again?
