Stranger Things: Six will be introducing the world to a brand new psychic teen, Francine — or Six. Set prior to the events of the first season, will we get more insight as to what went on inside the Hawkins Laboratory?
Since the first season dropped, Stranger Things has been one of the biggest hits to come out of Netflix. And with all the excitement, fans have had so many questions in these last two seasons.
What was life like at the Hawkins Laboratory? (Pretty grim from what we’ve seen so far.) How many other children were kept there? How many people share powers similar to Eleven?
Unfortunately, we can’t answer every single one of these questions. (Even some of the fan theories we have just raise even more questions.) But starting on May 29, Dark Horse Comics will shed some light on these inquiries with its new limited series, Stranger Things: Six.
In the comic’s trailer, we see a young girl telling her mother to abruptly stop the car. As the mother scolds the child, a large tree falls in front of where the car was about to drive. The child — who clearly has psychic abilities — has saved their lives.
Her mother, on the other hand, likely becomes frightened of her powers, and sends her off to the now infamous Hawkins Laboratory… but it seems this comic is more than just another story about a likely abused child.
Coming from the creative team of writer Jody Houser, penciller Edgar Salazar, inker Keith Champagne, letterer Nate Piekos, and colorist Marissa Louise, this is the first prequel to the popular Netflix show ever released.
The series will run for four issues and will hopefully shed some light on Dr. Brennar and his (very evil) government cohorts. This is also not Houser’s first time exploring the world of Hawkins, Indiana. She wrote the Stranger Things #1 comic from Dark Horse, but as seen through the eyes of Will as he experienced life in the upside down.
Will you be picking up the new series, available at comic shops nationwide? What do you think will happen with Francine, and will it change how we see the show from now on? Let us know in the comments below, and don’t forget: Stranger Things season 3 hits Netflix on July 4.
