Brooklyn Nine-Nine review: Everyone has to stop the Commissioner

The team is trying to catch a serial killer on this week’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine but then they quickly realize that their real enemy has been Commissioner Kelly all along.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine finished season 6 with quite a show! On this week’s episode, we watched as Captain Holt came face to face with his enemies in order to try and stop Commissioner Kelly. What’s interesting is that that follows through with the rest of the season.

Remember when Holt needed Jake’s help to impress Kevin’s coworkers? Well, Holt also needs to learn to trust Jake and the rest of the Nine-Nine. Essentially, Jake and Boyle are on the case of a serial killer that Commissioner Kelly really wants to catch. So Holt, who wants to impress him, puts a lot of heat on the two to catch the killer.

What they discover is that the killer is all set up by Kelly to make his app (where you can send in tips as a civilian) popular, all so he looks good and uh… not like he didn’t use money he shouldn’t have. Obviously, that means that Holt wants Kelly to get caught.

So they join up with Jake’s “Suicide Squad” of C.J, the Vulture, and Deputy Chief Madeline Wuntch. Of course, they come up with an elaborate plan that kind of backfires on them but, in the end, they end up all working together to bring down the commissioner with Jake and Madeline’s plan.

Meanwhile, Terry passed his lieutenant’s exam but the Nine-Nine doesn’t have enough money for his raise. So, instead of everyone fake helping Terry like last week, everyone does join together to try and get Terry the money he needs to stay with them.

But, because Holt and Madeline are better off than they were before, they work out a deal and get enough money for Terry to stay with the Nine-Nine! It’s a great last episode, brings everyone together, and really showed the joy that this show can bring fans everywhere, even if we have to wait months now for it to come back.

That being said, maybe we’ll have a bit more of Jake and Amy in the next season. Sure, this season we got quite a bit of them but this episode, they didn’t get a moment which, for fans of Jake and Amy, was a little disappointing. But we have high hopes for season 7 because who doesn’t love Jake and Amy? We know that they were already talking about having kids together so who knows what is going to happen with season 7!

In fact, we already know that we’re getting a season 7 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Which, is it that surprising because this season’s ratings were pretty great for the show. Either way, we’re getting more Brooklyn Nine-Nine and that’s a great thing for us all!
