Tom Hiddleston says ‘more mischief’ to come for Loki and fans are losing it

Loki fans, get hyped! Tom Hiddleston took to Twitter to tease his return as Loki for Disney’s streaming service.

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and especially of Loki are having a very exciting day. Rumors have swirled for some time that Disney would offer a limited series on its new streaming service, Disney+, focusing on a Marvel fan-favorite (or favorites). Scarlet Witch and Loki were to major possibilities, as well as a Bucky/Falcon spinoff.

In a recent press release, Disney shared a mix of entertainment coming to Disney+, and Loki fans subsequently freaked out when coming across this passage:

"Disney+ is also assembling a live-action series centered around a fan-favorite character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iger today confirmed that Marvel Studios is developing a series based on Loki, the god of mischief, to star Tom Hiddleston."

More good news from the press release included Lucasfilm will begin development on a Cassian Andor series with Diego Luna reprising his role from the film. But, as exciting as that is, what Marvel fans are here for is the Loki news.

While Avengers: Infinity War was really rough for fans of the god of mischief, maybe this news will make up for it. This will be the first time that an MCU character gets their own television series, offering plenty of opportunities to explore this mischevious character.

What could make this Loki news even better? Tom Hiddleston graced us with his presence on social media, which is a big deal as the actor is not known for being super active online. The tweet below is the first one he’s put out in over a year. Hiddleston seems to be pretty excited about this project, too, since he’s taking the time for once to post on social media.

Hiddleston teased that there will be “more mischief to make” and it’s safe to say fans are having a wide range of emotions over this tweet and the Loki series news from a day ago.

We are really excited to see what’s to come from this series, and it’s a great start to a new era of stories about some of our favorite characters. Hopefully, if it does well, which we are pretty sure it will, Disney and Marvel will continue to make more. (We’re still down for a Scarlet Witch or Bucky/Falcon series.)

These limited television series are a great way to explore the stories of fan-favorite characters who aren’t main characters in the MCU. We can’t wait to see more of Loki and are glad that the MCU didn’t end his story with Infinity WarI!
