Chris Pratt definitely just spoiled something big for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
We can now add Chris Pratt to the Avengers’ spoiler brigade. Thanks to an Instagram post, we know more about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Warning: Spoilers below for Avengers: Infinity War.
Chris Pratt was never part of the Marvel spoiler crew. That group exclusively included Tom Holland, Mark Ruffalo, and Sebastian Stan.
Thanks to a blissfully ignorant Instagram post, they may need to make room for one more. Pratt is going to have to do some major back backpedaling to get out of this mess.
On Instagram, Pratt posted a sweet message to Avengers: Infinity War co-star Pom Klementieff, who plays Mantis, for her birthday. In doing so, Star-Lord spoiled a pretty big part of Avengers: Infinity War and what’s to come next.
Pratt wrote on his post, “Happy Birthday @pom.klementieff whom many of you know as Mantis!!! She’s such a unique, talented and driven artist. Can’t wait to start shooting Guardians Vol. 3 with her next year! Hope you’re having a good day Pom!”
Keywords here? That he’ll be shooting Guardians Vol. 3 with Klementieff next year.
At the end of the film, we witness the destruction that Thanos creates with a snap of his fingers. Thanos’ choice to wipe out half the universe is, according to the screenwriters and most of those surrounding the film, irreversible. Many fans don’t want to believe that to be true. Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot to work off of.
What we also know is we are getting a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 slated for 2020. There’s just not much out there when it comes to casting news. At the moment, the film’s IMDB page only shows Klementieff reprising her role as Mantis and same for Elizabeth Debicki playing Aesha, the Golden High Priestess of the Sovereign.
Infinity War killed off every Guardian except Rocket Raccoon, which is pretty sad. Then again, a movie just about Rocket would be entertaining. Maybe it’d be him finding all the prosthetic limbs he’s ever dreamed of?
Pratt’s message to Pom leads us to believe one of two things: Either they’re all alive and well after Avengers 4 or Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will take place in the past, prior to Thanos’ destructive snap on Earth.
There are quite a few years where the Guardians are just traveling in space together. That might be boring… but could be where we find the movie since Kevin Feige and company have said the deaths in Infinity War are real.
