Shadowhunters season 3 episode 5 preview: Stronger Than Heaven

Heidi is after Simon, Lilith is after Clary, and Jace is still possessed. In short: no one is safe on Shadowhunters this week.

Usually, it’s Shadowhunters who chase demons. But after last week’s episode of Shadowhunters, the demon is coming for the Shadowhunters.

Realizing that Clary is able to free Jace of his “sleep,” Lilith is determined to eliminate the threat. Being a greater demon, that should be relatively easy — especially since Clary is a bit preoccupied. It’s a vicious circle.

Here’s Freeform’s official synopsis for this week:

"Someone is out to get Simon and Jace is on the hunt to find out who it is, meanwhile Clary turns to Luke to find a way to help Jace. Alec worries about the future of his relationship after learning more about Magnus’ romantic past. (Guest starring Anna Hopkins, Chai Hansen and Lisa Berry)"

It’s going to be a double dose of struggle for Magnus this week, considering he’s also been unwittingly roped into Lilith’s plan. And it looks like she pays handsomely; check out Magnus’ cash wad:

But, like Magnus reminded Alec last week, don’t lose hope. Malec has gotten really good at enduring.

The question is, what’s Jace’s status? Last week, he finally got to Morgan Young again. But instead of killing her, the Owl seemingly released her from her possession. It’s unclear whether this was Lilith’s order — especially since her main objective is to amass 33 disciples — or an act of rebellion.

Hunting down Simon’s stalker could be a welcome distraction from everything for Jace.

Ironically, Simon doesn’t even know he has a stalker yet. Raphael (who will hopefully still be around this week) managed to keep Heidi from Simon, but only temporarily. Simon himself is too busy enjoying his new apartment.

He’s also bonding with his new roommate: Kyle. Hopefully we learn more about his secret this week too.
