Who else has been at this Game of Thrones season 8 location, and how long will filming continue? New reports have some spoilery implications.

Warning: In case you didn’t catch it above, there are some potential Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers lurking about.

The events at Moneyglass over the past few weeks have acted as catnip to fans looking for Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers. However, it looks like that could soon change.

According to reports from Irish Thrones, a fansite that keeps an eye on locations in Ireland known to be Game of Thrones hotspots, it appears as though things will soon move to Magheramorne Quarry.

Check out the tweet below:

We’ve already seen work begin at Magheramorne Quarry, actually, although the last time we saw it, it was mostly in the green screen stages.

Does that mean that we won’t see Winterfell much in season 8 aside from whatever’s been filming there? Well, not necessarily. Production could return later in filming to accommodate directors’ schedules. However, it could also be for story reasons. That is, it’s possible Winterfell becomes uninhabitable due to damage in the fire. Maybe the North is merely overrun by the undead. Both seem quite likely judging by what we’ve seen from filming.

Additionally, Irish Thrones confirms that the Hound and Jon Snow both appeared around Winterfell. We knew Kit Harington had been in Belfast recently, but not where he was shooting. It looks like part of that was simply for some Winterfell work. The Night King seems like the most obvious of these three, frankly, and Rory McCann’s appearance is really the most surprising of them all. Even then, it’s not particularly a big surprise.

Although Irish Thrones doesn’t pick this up, it’s also believed Nikolaj Coster-Waldau might have been at Moneyglass recently.

At this point, the best clues we can have about Magheramorne’s setting will come from who’s in Belfast and if they’re spotted there. That’s not a lot to go on, but it is something, at least. After all, Harington’s arrival in Dubrovnik presaged his filming scenes with Lena Headey.
