Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: A beginning to season 8
How will Game of Thrones season 8 begin? New rumors and reports suggest that we might know what the first scene of the final season will be.

Remember how we were playing Where in the World is Kit Harington? yesterday for Game of Thrones season 8? Turns out it might have been more useful than imagined. Not only has Watchers on the Wall picked up that report, the outlet is also now saying that it knows where, at least, the first sequence of the final season is: the North. Specifically, it’s going to be in the small town outside Winterfell.
Now, that has us quite curious. WOTW focuses on the fact that we’re apparently not going to see what happens to Beric and Tormund, but we have a guess, as we usually do around here. And that guess is this. The season opens on Daenerys’ and Jon’s arrival to Winterfell, riding through the winter town.
Honestly, that’s the more realistic answer, anyway, although we do have a slightly less realistic answer. If — and this is a big if — the showrunners really wanted to kick the season off with a bang, start the assault on Winterfell by the Night King early, and have Jon and Daenerys arrive in the middle of it. It would mean a rather expensive amount of effects work, but we do have some evidence to suggest that Winterfell will be involved in a major sequence anyway. Would it really be so soon in the season?
That’s part of the reason we think it’s a bit less likely than the “safe” answer of it’s just Jon and Daenerys arriving or something like that. After all, WOTW’s report also says that Kit Harington “has multiple scenes later this week.” It doesn’t guarantee that Jon is a part of the start of season 8, but it does seem to offer evidence that he’s involved somehow.
