Star Wars Land speculations excite the loyal fan base

As Star Wars fans celebrate Star Wars Day, may the fourth be with you, the few tidbits on the future Star Wars Land continue to build excitement.

During the recent Star Wars convention, loyal fans were treated to a glimpse to the huge Star Wars Land expansion at both Disney World and Disneyland. During a panel discussion, Disney executives unveiled a short video with clues about the immersive experience. Although the area won’t be unveiled till 2019, each new piece of information is met with great excitement.

According to reports, this area will be a destination somewhere on the Outer Rim. The cast of characters in the area is diverse. From smugglers to travelers, no one knows who will pop up along the way. But be wary, the First Order is trying to expand its reach.

Having recently visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, the park shows very few hints about the new Star Wars Land. While the expansion is 14 acres, the only visible item is a wall and picture. The coming soon picture show an impressive vision of the Disney expansion. Construction is under way but the pixie dust is far from public view.

Disney has confirmed two big attractions. One is a Millennium Flacon ride. Riders will be able to journey on a custom, secret mission. Another attraction features a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Until the new area opens, Star Wars fans will have to content with the Star Wars experiences currently available. Disney’s Hollywood Studios offered the Star Wars Launch Bay. In this area, guests can meet and take pictures with BB-8, Chewbacca, and Darth Maul. Additionally, the area has tons of Star Wars memorabilia. Plus, you never know what other characters may be roaming the area.

Other Star Wars experiences include the Star Tours – The Adventure Continues. Throughout the queue, guests can see Star Wars favorite characters like C3PO and R2D2. Once they are ready to board Star Transport, riders take a simulated flight through many Star Wars lands. Coming later in 2017, the experience will feature new footage from recent Star Wars movies.

Throughout the park, guests can try Jedi training, watch shows and see the First Order march into the park. The evening fireworks display, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, is a definite must see. While Hollywood Studios celebrates Hollywood and the movies, the park puts a priority on Star Wars.

As the eventual opening date draws closer, Disney will surely reveal more details on the highly anticipated Star Wars Land. Until then, fans will have to be content with the current experiences. Plus, they might want to save their pennies and patience for the opening. Like many big theme park openings, the event will be packed and costly.
