2024 was the year for pop music fans but pop music girlies especially. No matter who you listened to, there was no denying the impact of Sabrina Carpenter and her Short n' Sweet album.

While many loved Sabrina's "Nonsense" outros during the Eras Tour, Sabrina Carpenter is not a newbie by any means. She's been singing since her Disney days and it feels like she's finally getting the notoriety she's always deserved.

Most of that can be chalked up to Sabrina's massive talent and how much she's able to appeal to fans. This goes hand-in-hand with the fact that you couldn't turn on a radio over the summer months without hearing "Espresso." That song was everywhere and people of all ages loved it or hated it yet still talked about it.

While "Espresso" was her mega-hit from Short n' Sweet, the album as a whole was undeniably great and deserves to be recognized for just how incredible it is.

Short n' Sweet was one of the best albums released in 2024.

Since we're talking about "Espresso," let's break down the singles Sabrina Carpenter chose to release with "Espresso" being her biggest. As mentioned, it was the song of the summer and so darn catchy that you couldn't help but sing it while washing dishes, driving in the car or working. I still don't know what the heck she did to that song, but people latched on it, leaving to even more hype for her future singles.

After "Espresso," Carpenter released "Please Please Please," which was an anthem that most women can relate to. It's all about making sure your partner doesn't embarrass you and can prove all the doubters in your life wrong. While we know how things played out for Sabrina, the hype from the song and casting Barry Keoghan in her music video was genius. It got people talking and felt like an incredible follow-up to "Espresso."

For the final two singles, she waited until the album was released. First was "Taste," which was a clear reference to a love triangle and featured an incredible music video. Sabrina Carpenter and Jenna Ortega are a duo we never knew we needed. If you've watched Death Becomes Her, then you'll appreciate the video all the more. Her current single is "Bed Chem," which feels timely given that it was such a trademark of her tour.

Even looking past all of the singles from Short n' Sweet, there were so many songs fans connected with on the album. "Juno" took on a life of its own when Sabrina embarked on her Short n' Sweet tour and fans are still buzzing about what she'll do for the next leg of the tour. The same could be said about "Good Graces" and "Coincidence," which had fans making TikToks and sharing all their thoughts on Carpenter performing these songs.

Ultimately, Short n' Sweet felt like a love letter to being a woman in the 21st century. From falling in love to growing up to making mistakes and trying to figure things out, Sabrina Carpenter touches on all of it. The thing that separates her from other artists is that she isn't afraid to push the envelope, act her age, and feel what she's feeling as evidenced by the lyrics in "Bed Chem."

While there were so many great album releases in 2024, Short n' Sweet is one I keep coming back to along with a select few. It's also worth noting that she worked with Julia Michaels who is notorious for writing some incredible songs so it's no surprise this album was full of hits. If you haven't sat down and listened to Short n' Sweet in its entirety yet, then don't wait until 2025 to get it done.
