Imagine it's 2005, and you're just hearing the rumblings of a new band. They're called the Jonas Brothers. Seemingly, the band disappears and comes back bigger than ever. Now, picture it 20 years later, and the Jonas Brothers are still making music.
Given the heartbreak back in 2013, no one imagined we'd see the Jonas Brothers back together and performing as a trio again. However, things changed in 2019 when the band worked things out and decided to give this music thing a try again.
Since then, the Jonas Brothers have given us two more albums, a few singles, and even more reasons to love them. Maybe that's just me as someone who has loved them for more than half my life. Even so, the Jonas Brothers are feeling like something new while still showing love to those who have loved them for decades.
The Jonas Brothers hosted JonasCon, a free convention for Jonas Brothers fans. It featured performances from the band, their youngest brother Franklin Jonas, All-American Rejects, and many others. There was merch, different pop-ups, places to eat, and many different activities to take part in. It truly sounded like a fangirl's paradise in the best way.
The Jonas Brothers are just getting started after 20 years together.
Let's begin with the two biggest announcements, which are the band's single, "Love Me to Heaven," along with the band's upcoming album and the 20th Anniversary Tour. Starting with the single, this one feels like something completely fresh. While "The Album" was okay, it just wasn't the sound and album most of us were expecting. However, "Love Me to Heaven" feels like a fresh take on the sound we've always loved from the brothers, and with a title like "Greetings from Your Hometown," it has me excited for what's next.
The other big announcement to come out of JonasCon was the 20th Anniversary Tour. This is something the band has been teasing for a while, so to get confirmation was excellent. This tour feels like something completely different, though. Not only will the Jonas Brothers be performing, but there will be guests including Marshmello, Boys Like Girls, and All-American Rejects.
While it might seem like an odd point to make, the brothers and their various projects will be highlighted as well. With nods to Nick Jonas and the Administration, and DNCE, it's going to be much more than a typical Jonas Brothers concert. Additionally, Nick and Joe will both be performing some of their solo music. Honestly, it feels like it's going to be a true homage to the Jonas Brothers and their 20-year journey.
The real winners in all of this are the fans. It feels like we've been waiting a while to get them to give us an all-encompassing tour, multiple albums and loads of exciting projects in the works. While JonasCon gave us loads to look forward to, I highly doubt the Jonas Brothers told us everything. The good news is that we have plenty of 2025 left, so they're likely to give us even more to get excited about.
