The 100's Bob Morley and Eliza Taylor will come to the short film circuit with Status: Active. The ten-minute piece documents a shopping app driver securing some questionable items for a client. It's a comedy clouded with dark elements that hits familiar ground when weird app requests arise between drivers and clients in real life.

Since wrapping up The 100 in 2020, the stars have been keeping busy with various projects. Taylor went on to become a recurring character, Hannah Carson, on the short-lived NBC sci-fi drama Quantum Leap, along with executively producing and starring in her Indie movie It Only Takes A Night.

For his part, Morley starred alongside Ryan Corr in the 2023 Australian dramedy In Limbo, in which he portrayed Nate, a married man struggling with mental illness. Before then, he starred as Peter K in the coming-of-age Binge drama Love Me.

Status: Active will be the second movie that Bob Morley and Eliza Taylor worked together on

In 2023, Morley and Taylor starred alongside in the thriller I'll Be Watching as Marcus and Julie, a fractured married couple salvaged by superior security technology. The film is intense and emotionally packed, but the performances are top-notch.

Joining Taylor in the cast is Carlos Pratts, Melissa Bergman, and Morley as the "Handsome Shopper."

Status: Active is the second movie Morley and Taylor have partnered on. While it's just under ten minutes, short films undergo extensive work and editing, much like their feature film counterparts. Waiting for Status: Active's release is excruciating, but the final call will be worth it.

According to the film's Indigogo crowdfunding page, Status: Active's described as a "genre-bending, dark comedy about a day in the life of Kaitlyn (Taylor), a Go Kart Go delivery driver in Los Angeles whose day takes a turn when a customer asks her to deliver some rather questionable items."

In a Cameo, Taylor additionally described Status: Active as "a dark comedy" and is "hoping that it makes people laugh but also think. It is not just a comedy. It's also a bit of a social commentary on the gig economy right now."

How fans can get involved with the creation of Status: Active

Morley and Taylor want the fans to experience a little bit of the Status: Active movie making, and the best way to do this was to launch an Indigogo page. It provides details of the film and the incredible perks given when donations are completed.

The initial Indiegogo goal of $10,000 was met within 24 hours and has surpassed it by 164%. It's currently tapped at $16,505. 100% of the funding goes directly to Status: Active's development, crew, and festival submission fees. The film will first be shown at festivals before it is released to the public.

Perks include signed behind-the-scenes photos, Cameo shout-outs, posters, and Zoom chats at various price points. There's still time to participate in the crowdfunding until April 7th. However, if one cannot make a financial contribution, other means of support exist, including following and sharing the Indigogo link and Status: Active's Instagram profile, where the posts unveil behind-the-scenes photos and bringing the film to life.

We love the Californian-styled art poster in plum and turquoise hues. The other version has lime green and bright cherry red for a more pronounced visual.

The exact release date has not been disclosed as of this writing, but Taylor hopes that festival dates would be in 2026 or sooner.
