Good Trouble always made sure that it recalled the significant emotional bond between Callie and Mariana, as well as the relationships they had with the rest of the Adams-Foster relatives, including Stef, Lena, Brandon, Jude, and Jesus. As the original core of The Fosters, it was those connections that Good Trouble relied on when it wanted to bring elements of The Fosters back into the fold and catch the audience up.

It was always clear, though, that Good Trouble was its own show with a new ensemble of main characters to support Mariana and Callie at the Coterie. Still, they never shied away from showing their mothers or brothers when the opportunity arose. However, as a fan of The Fosters, there may have been a noticeable lack of certain guest stars or references to previously important characters.

During Callie and Jamie's engagement party, Good Trouble finally rectifies part of that with Bailee Madison's cameo as Sophia Quinn, Callie's biological half-sister.

Sophia's brief video chat with Callie and the Adams-Foster siblings is a fun callback to The Fosters, but without understanding the history, it is a moment that makes almost no sense. During the run of Good Trouble, Callie only ever references Robert Quinn one time in a work setting, and there is never a mention of Sophia up until this moment. Viewers who had only ever tuned in to Good Trouble would have been in for a moment of whiplash upon discovering Callie had a half-sister who had never been mentioned previously.

Luckily, there is enough context to grasp that Sophia is off at graduate school, which explains why her appearance does not occur in person at the party.

While "All These Engagements" does well to bring back the rest of the Adams-Foster family except for Jesus, who was absent from the reunion, its inclusion of Sophia, while it may be many seasons too late to have this be her first reference, is still an important one.

Good Trouble never specifically clarified if Callie still had a relationship with Sophia or their biological father Robert, who was not in attendance at the party, and neither was Callie's father, Donald, who had raised her as a child up until her biological mother's death.

The Fosters had spent a lot of time developing and re-connecting the kids with their biological parents, even though Stef and Lena's place as their parents always was the most integral. However, Good Trouble never made the time to address if any of those relationships were still relevant.

Callie's dynamic with Robert is still unspoken, as is Mariana's connections to her biological parents Ana and Gabriel. Even Mariana's relationship with Mike and Ana's young child, who Mariana had been excited about as a teenager, is never referenced either.

"All These Engagements" may not be able to answer all of these questions, but by including Sophia in the episode at all, and showing that she and Callie have apparently kept up a consistent relationship over the years, it helps offer some understanding, and closure as Good Trouble comes to an end, about the status of Callie and Sophia's dynamic, especially after the highs and lows of what their relationship had been as teenagers.
