Fan Favorite 'Coraline' To Hit The Theatres Again in 3D For Its 15th Anniversary

Henry Selick’s widely acclaimed 2009 stop motion horror animation feature ‘Coraline’ is returning to the theatres again - but this time in Remastered 3D. 

Laika Studios in a recent tweet announced that the film will hit the big screens later this year in celebration of its 15th anniversary. As per Forbes, last year's theatrical re-release of Coraline made $5 million in just two days, making it a global hit and one of the highest-earning movies to return to theatres. Coming from the director of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline not only meets but exceeds our expectations, becoming a forever fan favorite.

What makes Coraline a fan favourite across distinguished age groups, multiplying its fans every passing year is its rightful blend of horror and gothic appeal. Looking at the successful box office run last year, it is without any doubt the movie promises to grab more eyeballs this time. 

Last year’s August re-release already advocates for how popular the movie is and why it is celebrated even now for its excellent production design, visual aesthetics and voice cast. What is Coraline about?

Adapted from Neil Gaiman’s titular novella, Coraline follows the adventures of the young protagonist- Coraline, who explores her new home just to find a magical door that takes her to a parallel universe. This seemingly perfect world which mirrors her real life however has some sinister secrets. Things take a bizarre turn as Coraline finds herself trapped between the parallel reality and her real world. 

Coraline must free herself from this eerie world that wants to keep her forever. But will she get swayed away or choose to save her family and return home?
