August feels like the end of summer but for some, it's vacation time. Thankfully, Everand knows exactly what we're looking for.

For those headed on vacation in August or later in the year, you're planning to unwind and relax. There is no better way to do that than picking up a new book or revisting an old favorite which is where Everand comes in.

The brand graciously gifted me a 1-year subscription and so far, I've only listened to a few audiobooks. Even so, the next vacation I go on, I'll definitely be sure to listen to a few audiobooks and get the full experience.

Don't take my word for it, though. Everand shared a reading list of 18 different books to pick up while you're on vacation so if you're looking for the ultimate beach read or the best way to help yourself relax, then these books are a great place to start.

Everand shares its ultimate vacation reads for 2024.

Before we get into the books, I'm going to link their post so you can see the full one but Everand truly ran the gambit of books if you're vacationing. There's a little bit of something for everyone, no matter what you're looking for. While I haven't read all of the books on this list, some are definitely headed to my Everand TBR.

Let's start with some of the Everand originals. For those who don't know, Everand does have some original stories and essays which they publish with a lot of them having audiobooks. The first one to make the list was Shelter by Ada Limón which is an original essay as a love letter to trees. If you're headed out in nature on vacation, this is the perfect pick.

The other Everand original on the list is The Summer of Fall by Laura Lippman. This is a memoir in which Lippman discussed a difficult summer she and her family had. Full of humor and heart, this one is sure to make your day a bit brighter. Keeping with some non-fiction picks, Everand also recommends Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer which focuses on Indigenous knowledge and the modern world.

Rounding out the non-fiction picks, Everand chose three great ones and ones I already have on my TBR so I have to agree. First is Ikigai by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles which talks about two areas with the longest-living people in the world and the secret to a long life. Then there is Hip-Hop is History by Questlove which is a history of hip-hop and also talks about Questlove's life. Last but not least for non-fiction, Everand recommends Good Girls Don't by Mara Wilson, famous for her roles in Matilda and Mrs. Doubtfire. All in all, this is such a unique list and one I'm definitely going to be picking from.

Moving onto some more thrilling reads, I'm including Long Island by Colm Tóibín as it's a sequel to Brooklyn so you have to read that before picking this up. The newest from Ruth Ware, The Perfect Couple made the list and so did Never Lie by Freida McFadden. While I've only read the latter, I'm always on the hunt for a good thriller especially in the summer.

If you're in the mood for adventure and a bit of sci-fi, then Everand recommends 3 titles which are The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley, A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers, and The Ballad of Jacquotte Delahaye by Briony Cameron. I'd say that The Ballad of Jacquotte Delahaye would be great for a cruise as it focuses on pirates. A Psalm for the Wild-Built would be great if you're going camping and The Ministry of Time would be great for a long plane ride.

Moving onto some YA titles, Everand featured two on their list and once again, they're calling me out with these two. First is The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han. Whether you're a fan of the show or love Jenny Han's work, this is a must-read. Then there is Twelfth Knight by Alexene Farol Follmuth which is a modern take on Shakespeare and has Reese's stamp of approval. What more could you ask for?

Since I'm a romance reader, I had to save the 4 romances on the list for last with the first being It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover. This one hits theaters on August 9th so you still have time to read it before you go see the movie. Then there's the One Hot Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle which is a story that plays with time in a unique way. Next up is The Breakaway by Jennifer Weiner. The story follows Abby Stern as she's leading a cycling tour across NYC and everything that goes on with that.

Last but not least is The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren. This cover absolutely screams vacation read and as someone who read and loved it, I can highly recommend this one alongside Everand. No matter if you're the one planning the vacation or are just there to relax, then Everand has the ultimate list of reads to make sure you have the best vacation.
