Epic Universe’s Ministry of Magic impresses with immersive rides and live performances

Anyone who has stepped under the Hogsmeade sign or crossed through the wall of Diagon Alley understands that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is more than just another theme park experience. With the new Epic Universe’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, this Parisian enclave has more than just magical creatures waiting to be discovered.

While the other Harry Potter lands focus on a more specific timeline, the new Ministry of Magic area will blend the worlds of old and new. Although some muggles might dream of going back to the future and vice versa, the reality is that a wave of wand and a willingness to believe can make anything become reality.

Within this magical land, guests leave a bucolic Parisan park for the world that is unlike any other. Similar to other elements within the Wizarding World, interactive wands make the displays come to life. But, what awaits at the end of the street is a new experience for muggles and wizards, alike.

For the first time ever, the Ministry of Magic will offer a “live, full-scale theatre experience” at Le Cirque Arcanus. Although there are several performances in both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, this show will be more be more expansive. Combining performers, aerialist, puppetry, and effects, guests may want to watch back to back sets to take in all the visuals.

Featuring elements from Newt Scamander’s suitcase, the diabolical Ringmaster Skender looks to weld his tyrannical ways. Luckily, Gwenlyn is prepared and will help those magical creatures avoid being captured.

Wands up: Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry

As many Harry Potter fans recall, the wizarding trio narrowly escaped the Ministry of Magic during their quest to capture Umbridge. In the new Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry ride at Epic Universe, the thrilling adventure takes riders on a high paced, action packed event that no one will forget.

Although all the details will remain under wraps till the rope drops, this ride will build on what Universal Orlando theme park guests have come to expect from the creative team, immersive experiences unlike other theme parks. From first stepping into the queue to arriving back at the end of the ride, it will take multiple experiences to appreciate all the nuances.

What is unknown about this particular ride is whether or not it is family inclusive. Given that most of the Harry Potter rides appeal most ages, it seems likely that this attraction will be open to most guests.

As Harry Potter fans count down the days to the opening of Epic Universe, why not take some time to revisit the other attractions at Universal Orlando, rewatch the films on Peacock, or reread the books. No matter how many times those stories are heard, they never lose their magic.
