The 96th Annual Academy Awards this year was truly a spectacle! With fan predictions flooded all across the internet, tweets and ballots everywhere, it is safe to say that the craze for the Oscars this time has just gotten bigger than ever! Spanning over nine decades since 1927, the Oscars have remained one of the most prestigious honors celebrating the craft of incredible artists for their praiseworthy work in film and television over the years.

This year's Oscars had its runtime quite longer than usual but was equally filled with spectacular performances, heartfelt speeches, and much more to keep us glued to our screens throughout. Quite a star-studded affair, what we call the biggest night in Hollywood was hosted by none other than Jimmy Kimmel this year at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

While Yorgos Lanthimos's Poor Things picked up 3 quick awards in the beginning giving a tough competition to Christopher Nolan's visual epic Oppenheimer, it was ultimately Nolan who took home 7 Academy Awards for his movie, including "Best Picture". The frontrunner bagged as many as 13 total nominations leading through, followed by Poor Things with 11 nominations. Poor Things received 4 Academy Awards including Emma Stone for Best Actress in Leading Role.

However, despite Barbie being last summer's highest-grossing movie, received only 8 nominations at the Oscars out of which won 1 for Best Original Song - "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell. While Barbie had no significant wins at this year's Oscars, Ryan Gosling's spectacular rendition of "I'm Just Ken" sure did win our hearts!

We witnessed Cinema reaching its peak in the last few years, with us audiences constantly being spoiled by one great movie after another. Speaking of which, how can we forget the marvelous phenomenon that Barbenheimer was?

The Christopher Nolan-directed Biopic on the father of the atomic bomb J. Robert Oppenheimer dominated the Oscars, taking away 7 Academy Awards from 13 nominations. As for snatching the most number of awards in multiple categories, Christopher Nolan wins his first in direction. So now we can officially call him an Oscar-winning filmmaker. Both Robert Downey Jr. and Cillian Murphy also win their first Oscar, expressing their deepest gratitude in their acceptance speech.
