It was a while ago that the official teaser of the long-awaited anticipated sequel to the 1988 horror comedy Beetlejuice. The teaser from a while back did not reveal too much but enough to increase excitement and book tickets in advance. The main trailer shows what audiences will be walking into the theater in September.

The trailer opens with Winona Ryder as the famous goth woman Lydia Deetz playing a montage to Elvira, The Mistress of Dark. The beginning starts similar to the teaser explaining the tragic passing of Charles Deetz (Jeffery Jones) with Lydia (Ryder) and Astrid (Jenna Ortega) sitting in a graveyard talking about comparing life is harder than death.

The trailer shows the same scenes with Lydia explaining to Astrid about her past and her experiences with a zombified spirit while warning to not say his name 3 times. It is a comedy Astria (Ortega) says the name Beetlejuice 3 times and the big climax that was shown in teaser with Lydia and Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) meeting again.

We get solid dose of Keaton playing the iconic afterlife figure in full makeup, a worn pinstripe black and white suit that was first worn in the first film. The trailer addresses a question that highlighted in the first Beetlejuice: ''Can the living and the dead coexist?''

The trailer shows Keaton bringing that same electric, maverick energy as Beetlejuice from the first film and we get a glimpse of the newly added cast members such as Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti in his feature film debut, and Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe (Poor Things, At Eternity’s Gate.)

The trailer explains a closeup of Bellucci and Dafoe threatening other afterlife beings asking where is Beetlejuice. The direction from Tim Burton with the screenplay penned by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (Wednesday) alongside The LEGO Batman Movie team Gough & Millar and Seth Grahame-Smith based on characters created by Michael McDowell and Larry Wilson.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is expected to be released on September 6, 2024.
