2024 MTV VMAs reveal Most Iconic Performance nominees-See the lineup!

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, or the VMAs, has added a new category to its extensive lineup, and it's an honorable one! As such, the VMAs will award a 'Moon Man' to one memorable on-stage performance through the years under the new category of "Most Iconic Performance."

The annual award show, which celebrates musicians and pretty much the entire music industry, will turn 40 this year. For the first time in VMAs history, fans can vote for their favorite performance by 'one of music's most influential and infamous artists. This would be the first introduction for the "Most Iconic Performance" category, and the best thing about it is that it has many of my favorite artists going for the coveted trophy.

in other words, this is one of the presentations I'm most looking forward to.

I'll be transparent. I don't know if the category will be an annual one like the rest or a one-time moment. But I do know that every nominee is credible to win as they changed the course of music in their own distinct way.

The 2024 MTV VMAs "Most Iconic Performance" nominees

There are a total of seven artists vying for the Moon Man, and people are still thinking about how they rocked that VMA stage over the years. Madonna made headlines at the first VMAs Show in 1984 with her risque and erotic dance while vocalizing "Like A Virgin" and was dressed in a lace bridal gown. The singer made headlines again in 2003 when she collaborated with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, who were both up for awards that year.

These two performances will be among the nominees, and joining in the battle would be other top female artists such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and obviously but the equally deserving Taylor Swift, who is leading the 2024 ceremony with the most nominated categories.

Beginning September 10th at 11 AM EST, fans can vote for their pick for 24 hours via Instagram through the official MTV account by Stories.

The 2024 MTV VMAs will air live on Wednesday, September 11th at 8 PM EST, with Megan Thee Stallion returning as host.
