Many people have seen K Michelle on various reality television shows, but Peacock’s Queens Court season 2 is unlike those past adventures. In this dating experience, K Michelle opened herself to the opportunity and, in the process, uncovered the type of relationship that would fulfill her.

The world of reality television can be quite complicated. While viewers appreciate the entertainment value of the drama filled episodes, the truth is that real people go through the process. Even though it can be difficult to let their guard down, honest, vulnerable, and thoughtful conversations create an authentic experience.

For K Michelle, the opportunity to explore the possibilities of finding a connection on Queens Court Season 2 appealed to her. Even though she has lived her life in the spotlight, this time is different. As the show’s premise makes clear, the “queen” is looking for her “king.” The royal treatment in all aspects of life is non-negotiable.

During a recent conversation with K Michelle, she explained why this opportunity appealed to her. She shared, “After being in a relationship for over eight years, I learned a lot. When people try to date me, you try to see who they are and what they want. Previously, I never really gave them an opportunity to fully know me. On Queens Court, I got to see how the dating world works, to appreciate different perspectives. Not every woman gets this opportunity, but it is an experience that was good for me.”

While this television show experience offered many opportunities, it raised a scenario that many women have difficulty approaching, the idea of starting over. For example, branching out on your own or stepping into the unknown is scary. That “unknown” can lead some people to stay in a relationship that is not fulfilling.

K Michelle shared, “When you are in a relationship, that person knows you in and out. Starting over is such a difficult thing. When I hear women say, I don’t want to start over, I completely understand that. Life is happening and time is ticking. At the same time, you do not want to rush things because a true bond will always be there. It is hard for women out there, but those real, full conversations are important.”

The premise of Queens Court might be for K Michelle and the other ladies to find their king, but each episode brings more than just a stunning date and an opportunity to make a connection. The reality is that this series is a discussion on inter-personal relationships.

For her part, the biggest takeaway from the whole experience was not necessarily the happily ever after moment. K Michelle explained, “the personal relationships that I made was the biggest takeaway. We became great friends and we still check on each other.”

“More importantly, I learned how to listen. Sometimes we get caught up in our emptions that we may not think about how men hurt as much as women do. Being able to hear a man speak on his hurt changed my perspective. It showed me the importance of being willing to listen without gaslighting or deflecting. Listening is very important in a partnership.”

While each person needs to determine the priorities, essentials, or even deal breakers in their relationship, there are some concepts that cross all those sentiments. The willingness to have a partner along the journey can make the process more fulfilling.

Since the Peacock show refers to the ladies as “queens,” K Michelle’s perspective on that word and what it means is interesting. When asked, she responded, “I think that being a Queen is knowing your value and understanding that women are magical. They can turn nothing into something. Embracing that “Queen” title is knowing your value, what you bring to the table, and holding these men accountable to treat you as you see yourself.”

From women who are queens to royalty in the making, watching K Michelle and her fellow castmates could help women take that path to personal discovery. The throne is waiting for all women to take their place.

Season 2 of Queens Court can be streamed on Peacock.
