The wait is over for Bob's Burgers fans.

It feels like it's been a decade since we last saw an episode of Bob's Burgers. To be specific, the last new episode of Bob's Burgers we got was in 2024. It was the end of December, and since then, the Belchers have been missing in action.

Well, that's not technically true. Instead, Fox decided to boot them for a few months to focus on other shows. While we're getting this week's Bob's Burgers on Sunday like normal, the Belchers will be airing on Thursdays beginning on May 29th.

If that wasn't enough exciting news, we also found out that Bob's Burgers has been renewed for four more seasons on Fox. With Bob's Burgers also airing into the summer, it's unlikely we'll have a hiatus as long as this until 2026. That's more of a hope than anything, though.

Since there was such a long hiatus between episodes, we're going to be talking about what happened in "Mr. Fischoeder's Opus" and if the episode was worth the wait. Let's just hope this episode delivers and makes up for us not getting an episode for almost five whole months.

Here's what happened in "Mr. Fischoeder's Opus."

The episode begins with the Belchers working in the restaurant, and Mr. Fischoeder shows up, asking the Belchers to cater an event at his home. He wants to make the orchestra feel better about him making changes, and if the Belchers do an excellent job, he'll give them two months of free rent. The following night, the kids aren't helping so Bob sends them to the backyard to play.

Meanwhile, Mr. Fischoeder is trying to impress everyone until Felix shows up, and he decides to make Felix babysit them, while Fischoeder wants the kids to distract Felix. During the party, Bob and Linda are trying to help him with the concert master by saying that he'll conduct the piece faster, but they end up making things worse. Fischoeder decides to get them all drunk and make a toast, which results in the concert master taking him down a peg and making him quit.

Inga, Fischoeder's maid, tells Bob to go find him at the Hedge House to make things right, and once he gets there, Bob finds out why Fischoeder thinks the way he does, but he agrees to do it the way the concert master wants. The next scene follows the Belchers a week later at the performance, and Bob goes to visit Mr. Fischoeder before the performance to tell him to do it in a faster tempo. In the end, Mr. Fischoeder decides to do it at a faster tempo, which ends up winning over the orchestra.

Was "Mr. Fischoeder's Opus" worth waiting for?

As you can see, it was an action-packed episode of Bob's Burgers. There were so many stakes, which isn't something we always have in an episode. However, due to the show's long hiatus, I do think that "Mr. Fischoeder's Opus" was worth the wait. While the episode might not be everyone's cup of tea, it's one that I know I'll go back and revisit when doing a rewatch of season 15.

With that being said, the only aspect I didn't really love was Felix and the kids watching each other. It felt pretty unnecessary. Either way, the writers probably wanted something to break up the party and give the kids something to do. Ultimately, the music and the performance at the end of the episode were the real treat. There was something about hearing it faster after hearing Fischoeder hype it up that just worked.

Ultimately, fans are all going to have different reactions to this episode. Even so, it's nice to have Bob's Burgers back. While the Belchers are on a Memorial Day break next Sunday, we're going to be getting a new episode on May 29th. It's so awesome to be able to say that.

Bob's Burgers will return with a new episode on May 29th at 8/7c.
