Casey McQuiston’s best-selling novel Red, White, and Royal Blue is coming to the big screen. The film adaption of the romance book will be released on Amazon Prime Video on August 11, 2023.

The story follows Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the first female President of the United States. Alex falls in love with a British prince named Henry. The two begin a relationship but keep it secret for fear of how their families and the public would react.

Book fans are excited about the upcoming adaption, yet they’re also curious if McQuiston has plans for more books in the series.

Is Casey McQuiston planning to write more Red, White, and Royal Blue books?

Red, White, and Royal Blue is the debut novel from McQuiston, which was released in May 2019. Within months of its release, the book was on the New York Times best-seller list and sold over 100,000 copies.

McQuiston won numerous awards for the novel and was credited with helping to spark interest in the LGBT romance genre. Since then the author’s popularity has continued to rise. She’s released two more books, One Last Stop and I Kissed Shara Wheeler.

Red, White, and Royal Blue remains McQuiston’s biggest hit, and readers are curious if the author plans to expand the novel into a series. In a 2019 interview with Hello! magazine, McQuiston discussed the possibility of a sequel.

"“I will say that I have plenty of ideas for stories set in this world and would love a chance to explore one of them some day. I would be surprised if you’ve seen the last of Alex and Henry.”"

It’s been four years since fans fell in love with Alex and Henry’s love story. If there are any plans for another book, McQuiston is tight-lipped. Readers will have to patiently wait for news on the next book in the series.

In the meantime, they can watch the film version when it drops on Amazon later this month.
