Let’s all appreciate Karma with Taylor Swift and Ice Spice
Taylor Swift is one of the most exciting pop artists of the last 20 years. The country darling turned full-fledged musical mogul is once again gracing us with some extras.
While Midnights was a surprise in itself, Taylor isn’t letting the fun end. If anything, she’s giving us even more love. Aside from releasing songs such as “Hits Different” and “You’re Losing Me,” she also announced a remix of “Karma” featuring Ice Spice included in the “Til Dawn” edition.
This isn’t the first time Taylor has featured a dynamic female performer with her, but we rarely see her team up with a rapper like Ice Spice. In addition, she and Ice Spice starred in a music video from “Karma”, which is one of Taylor’s most visually appealing music videos to date.
In honor of the new music video for “Karma”, I wanted to write an entire appreciation post for why this is such a good music video.
The music video for Karma with Taylor Swift and Ice Spice is iconic.
If you have yet to watch it, I’m going to feature it below because how could you not have seen it yet? This music video might be one of my new favorites from Taylor Swift but let me share the clip first before I talk anymore.
Let me start by saying that this remix is everything. I’d never listened to Ice Spice before now, so I had no idea what to expect. However, she brought the exact energy to “Karma” that it needed. Plus she’s an amazing rapper so I can see why Taylor decided to feature her on a song like “Karma.”
As for the music video, my favorite thing about this was easily the outfits. Somehow, Taylor and Ice Spice managed to outdo themselves. There was something so fun about seeing their outfits continue to change along with the backgrounds. I don’t know about you but I had to watch it two times before I finally got enough of it.
While Taylor was the featured artist on the track, I do feel like Ice Spice had her moments too which is always good. In recent albums, it’s felt like the featured artist didn’t get as much time as they should. This time though, it feels like a good amount of time for Ice Spice to do her thing and add something else to the song which is always appreciated.
Considering that Ice Spice joined Taylor Swift during her stop in New Jersey, I feel like we’re not going to escape this song anytime soon. I’m not mad about it because this music video is so much fun to watch. I especially loved all of the gold featured which feels like a throwback to Fearless. I’m so happy and pleasantly surprised by this remix and music video so I’m making sure everyone knows to check it out.
If you’ve watched the “Karma” music video, be sure to share your thoughts below and let us know your favorite moments from it.
