It’s rare to see a family go through as much as Jonas Brothers have. That’s not even including the fact that the three brothers played in a band together for decades.

For those of us who love and adore the Jonas Brothers, this year has felt like a pipe dream. The band released its first album in 2006 and since then, the trio has captured the hearts of millions. I’m sure my fellow fans all remember the first song we heard or going to buy their first album.

Regardless of how long you’ve been a fan, I’m sure none of us imagined the Jonas Brothers how we do in 2023. In 2013, this idea seemed like such a faraway fantasy. We were looking at a band we had grown up with and loved to say they were done. No doubt we can all remember that day with finality.

However in 2019, the Jonas Brothers came back together and since then, it really does feel like the brothers and us as fans have come full circle together.

The Jonas Brothers have truly come full circle for themselves and their fans.

If you’re a Jonas Brothers fan such as myself, you’re probably counting down the days until The Album drops and we see the band’s latest venture. In a way though, it does feel like this album is the closing of a chapter while opening another. This comes after the band’s appearance on TODAY and among the band’s short Broadway residency.

In the article shared by TODAY, there was one quote shared from Kevin Jonas that really spoke to me: “I do think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves when we were younger to get it all right…I think now we just kind of do what we need to do to have fun and continue making music that we love, and I think that’s why it’s working.” In a lot of ways, this feels spot-on to those of us who have been fans for almost two decades.

If you’ve been around in the band’s heyday, especially between 2006-2008, the Jonas Brothers were pumping out albums, going on tour, and eventually, being in the spotlight nonstop which is how a lot of us were introduced to them. Due to all of that, the band eventually got burnt out, resulting in the subsequent breakup and then an eventual reconnection.

In a lot of ways, it feels similar to how we are as fans of the band. The Jonas Brothers were such a huge part of our lives growing up and shaped so much of who we are as people. It’s only right that we’d see them crash and burn as we have in our lives, too. I remember loving and being obsessed with the band as a teenager.

Now though, I do still love and respect the band, but I’m not obsessed. In a way, it must feel the same for the brothers, too. They’re still making music but they’ve slowly but surely grown with their fans. It’s clear in the release of the band’s latest single, “Wings.” It’s not exactly the poppy sound we’re used to but a lot of us are loving it and praising the band for it.

That’s not to say the Jonas Brothers are forgetting their previous works or are completely leaving everything behind. If anything, the band is paying homage to their previous eras and their fans via their Broadway residence stint, Vegas shows, and tour setlists.

All in all, it seems like The Album is going to be something completely different for the band and for us as their fans. While it might not be exactly what we envisioned, there’s nothing more exciting than watching your favorite band evolve into what they’ve always wanted to be.

Next. “If This Was A Movie” is finally gets its due. dark
