Given how Mariana concluded Good Trouble’s fourth season by taking an idea out of Callie’s playbook, it only makes sense that Callie would return to confront Mariana. Luckily, that is the case, as Maia Mitchell is officially reprising her role as Callie Adams Foster in season 5 as a guest star.
Last Good Trouble left Mariana, she was running away with Joaquin and his sister from a speeding bullet as they tried to escape a cult. With the bullet remaining in the air as the season came to an end, the question remains as to who, if anyone, was harmed, and if so, how much?
The Freeform drama has made good use of filling the void Callie left behind after exiting the show as a series regular at the beginning of season four. Although she is certainly missed, Mariana and the rest of the Coterie have continued full speed ahead.
When Good Trouble returns, there will be plenty of drama to deal with, whether it be the fallout of Mariana’s actions, the brewing romance between Davia and Dennis, Malika’s political and activist aspirations, Alice’s future in comedy, or the conflicts that may follow Gael as he tries to figure out how to be a father.
Although it is unspecified how often Callie will appear on Good Trouble, hopefully, her return will include mentions of her personal and professional life in Washington D.C. However, Callie’s main reason for returning will most likely be connected to Mariana’s efforts to infiltrate the cult. Given Callie’s past of pulling off similar stunts, it will be exciting to see how a confrontation between them would play out.
Otherwise, Good Trouble is always filled with intriguing drama, character development, and discussions about political and social issues. So, there is plenty of that to dive into as the Coterie residents return for the fifth season.
Season 5 of Good Trouble will premiere on Freeform on Thursday, March 16 at 10/9c.
