Are Spencer and Olivia moving on? Two weeks following their breakup, the duo is miserable. But, while breaking up was not what they hoped for their relationship, they did not go back on their decision, determining that space may be better for them at the moment. Still, that does not diminish how much they are hurting.

So, are they moving on? Spencer seems to be willing to try. However, his attempts are failures, as no matter how hard he tries, Spencer can not get Olivia out of his head and will not be with someone else to do it.

All American does not hold back in remembering that Spencer and Olivia did not break up due to losing interest in each other. Olivia and Spencer each reference missing the other. But, while focusing on his breakup and attempting to have fun at a party take up most of Spencer’s storyline, Olivia is still dealing with her suspicions about Coach Garrett.

When Billy claims that, as the adult, he should be in charge, Olivia does not precisely agree. Instead, in a wish to avoid another fight with Jordan, Olivia tells her brother about her suspicions and story prospect to avoid surprising him.

However, that does not mean that Olivia’s mind is entirely off her breakup. When Olivia sees a social media post suggesting Spencer’s willingness to move forward, it brings back out her desire to take control of the story against Coach Garrett, which Billy agrees to without argument, knowing he has to take a step back and trust her.

While Jordan is not thrilled to hear of Olivia’s plan to go after his football coach, Jordan can not help but become suspicious after Isaiah avoids Jordan’s questions about Coach Garrett’s intentions. However, suppose that did not solidify Jordan’s belief that Olivia may be right. In that case, it may have been watching Coach Garrett give Isaiah a full scholarship later on for his block against the opposing team’s most prominent player.

Layla continues to face opposition from Clay’s record label, and rather than gain a spy, she chooses to steal a member of their team. Bringing Gia onto Layla’s record label helps her grow her business in Layla’s strive to compete with Clay and make a name for herself in the music industry.

However, another one of the episode’s most significant conflicts comes between Asher and JJ. Asher has been succeeding as a student coach, but JJ’s refusal to take the post-season of football seriously leads to butting heads.

JJ claims that since the season is over, he can relax and get back to partying. However, there may be something else occurring there. JJ is the least fleshed out of all the main characters, and this may be an opportunity to build more on his character.

In the past, it has been hard for JJ’s friends to take him seriously, making their perception of him mostly limited to knowing how to throw a fun party. However, if there is more to JJ’s side of the conflict than his determination that being in the post-season means he can relax more, it could be a way to add development to his character.

In contrast, Asher does not seem to see anything in JJ other than a party boy who refuses to take Asher’s coaching and advice seriously.
