Hulu has been making the rounds this summer. The streaming platform has added a plethora of exciting movies and TV shows.

Heading into August, it’s clear things are staying par for the course. In particular, the first week of August is a huge week for releases. Whether it’s originals or existing properties being added to the streaming service, there is just so much.

If you’re just looking for a bite-sized version though, that’s what Hulu Highlights are for. It’s essentially picking out some titles you might be interested in without listing everything out and that’s always handy.

Let’s break down Hulu’s newest additions for the first week of August until August 5th.

These new Hulu highlights are perfect for a weekend watch party.

Starting things off, it’s only right to talk about the one Hulu original released this week and that’s Prey. This is the next film in the Predator series and it’s supposed to be a prequel to the first four movies. Either way, the early reviews have been great so if you’re looking for something new to enjoy, Prey might be an excellent choice.

Keeping with the theme of movies, a lot of exciting movies were added to the platform. The Spider-Man trilogy is obviously a huge addition but there are also the first two movies in both the Despicable Me and Ghostbusters franchises. However, if you’re looking to embrace Romance Awareness Month, What A Girl Wants, You’ve Got Mail and Pretty Woman were all added.

If you’re looking for some family movies, Hulu also added Fantastic Mr. Fox, Hotel Transylvania, The Muppets Take Manhattan, and Surf’s Up to name a few. All in all, it was a huge movie week for Hulu.

As for TV shows, Hulu added episodes of Reservation Dogs, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Cinderella and Four Knights, and Uncontrollably Fond. Rounding out TV programs is the CMA Fest which is coming on August 4th. All in all, the first week of August was full of releases for Hulu and the trend will only continue for the rest of the month.
