Episode 4 of Roswell New Mexico’s final season was all about the feels, as we saw one character lose someone important and another seeing what might have been home in a rather unique vision.

It was an episode that finally had our third alien meet Max and it proved that this particular alien might be more dangerous than most thanks to their shapeshifting abilities. With the episode title of “Dear Mama,” it may come as no surprise that the character’s death was a mother – specifically Maria’s mother. And while that death occurred right in the opening moments, it reverberated across the episode.

For Maria, it is not only the loss of her mother but also her visions that is leaving her in pain and with an anger that sees her lashing out. And yet, with her mother’s dying moments, she left Maria with a clue that ties right into that vision of home.

Roswell New Mexico gives us a death and new clues in “Dear Mama”

For Michael, his time with Bonnie and Clyde offered him a chance to see what their home planet looked like (at least before its apparent destruction). And if you paid close attention to that vision, the same tree on the plant that offered the fruit that Michael ate is in the clue from Maria’s mother.

There is no doubt that this is not a coincidence. And yet, it doesn’t give us much to go off of yet.

However, even with these clues (that we don’t understand yet), there were a lot of other things that took place that were also worth paying attention to. Not only did Max ended up with the third alien, who was impersonating Jenna, but we also saw Michael getting a chance to see even more alien technology, including a “board” that uses alien gems to activate.

And let’s not forget that Kyle went to Mexico on the hunt for clues and came across a woman in an alien pod. Or how about Liz realizing that the alien DNA that she thought she destroyed was actually playing possum in its own way.

Basically, a lot went down on Roswell in episode 4 and we are pretty invested in seeing what all of these clues mean and what all of these moments will lead to in the future. Plus, with Alex still missing and Max now in the hands of the third alien (who also has possession of Jones’ body), things are not looking great for our aliens.
