Roswell offers nods to the past as “Fly” gives us danger for at least one of our leading men

We are only two episodes into Roswell, New Mexico Season 4, yet we are getting all of the action and callbacks to the past we could hope for. From Jones being a problem even six months after he was defeated to Isobel doing something we haven’t seen her do in quite some time, “Fly” was jam-packed with moments that are tying together things we have seen before.

While there are new aliens in town, there are a lot of questions revolving around them and why they have arrived in Roswell now. We know that Jones sent out a call to any other aliens out there to join him on his mission to take over Earth (he had delusions of grandeur in line with the destruction of their own planet). And now it looks like those aliens are showing up in town and they are bringing trouble with them.

Of course, with their arrival, we have a lot of questions. And one of those questions is exactly what the plan Jones put into motion. And what is with the alien glow bugs? Also, what happened to Liz’s mentor, and why is her wife apparently in Roswell poking around?

Roswell uses hints of the past to build up the story of the new aliens in town.

Seriously, there are so many questions from this episode. But we love the questions. It means there is so much more to the story, and it is why we keep coming back for more.

But with these new aliens and all these questions, one major plot point happened in “Fly” that has worried for the future and at least one of our main men. And that is when Alex gets trapped by one of the new aliens in town. We don’t exactly know what happened to Alex, except for the fact that he got sucked into the ground.

The biggest problem with Alex going missing is that he is out of town for a few days, so will anyone even realize that something is wrong. Will it take Alex not showing up in five days someone to figure out that there is a problem?

We don’t know. But we do know that this new alien plans to use Alex for some purpose, and that can’t be a good thing. And this doesn’t even consider the alien glow bug that Liz and Michael are investigating. With Alex coming across all those bugs before he was captured, we can’t help but think that all of these things are connected somehow. And that is never good for our Roswell crew.

There is trouble brewing in Roswell, and that means that the past is going to be just as important as what is happening right now.

What did you think of “Fly?” Do you think Michael will realize that something is wrong with Alex? What do you think they need Alex for? And do you think the Jones situation is going to continue to drag Max, Isobel, and Michael down? We want to hear your thoughts.
