Nemo, the little Clownfish from the Great Barrier Reef, just might be getting his own series over at Disney+ with his own Finding Nemo series.  Though this is just speculation and no official word has been confirmed, the prospect of a series centered on Nemo is exciting.

According to an episode of the Youtube series, The DisInsider Show, CEO Skylar Schuler, and his co-host, Derek Cornell, further discussed the rumor and the continuation of Disney+’s aim of creating new content from their popular older releases.

"“So this is straight out of Pixar…let’s just say over the next couple years you are going to still get original content after ‘Lightyear’….thanks to things like ‘Cars on the Road’ and ‘Dug Days’, Pixar is diving into the world of series…..they are getting to animate and develop alongside Andrew Stanton, a ‘Finding Nemo’ series for Disney+.”"

Finding Nemo and its sequel, Finding Dory, became monumental box office hits when they debuted in 2003 and 2016 respectively, and have even caused an increase in Clownfish popularity and ownership, which sadly, ended with disastrous results. Since then, Disney has been issuing announcements to their audience that if they decided to adopt or purchase animals on which the production is based, then responsibility must adhere to the animal’s life.

If greenlit, the Finding Nemo series will mostly have a whole new storyline, along with adding new characters, and the hopeful likelihood of the original voice cast returning (Ellen Degeneres, Albert Brooks, Brad Garrett, and Willem Defoe, to name a few).  If that is not enough to ‘dive’ into, it will drive new fans and appreciation for the Pixar/Disney franchise.

Other franchises with revamped spinoffs in the vast Disney+ catalog include Star Wars, Marvel, Toy Story,  and the Fox show, The Simpsons, which have met with both commercial and critical success.
