The Muppets are set to launch a new comedy, The Muppets Mayhem, that will stream exclusively on Disney+.  The 70’s rock-style band, Dr. Teeth, and the Electric Mayhem will be the center stage focus.

The show will follow Dr. Teeth, Floyd Pepper, Janice, Zoot, Lips, and of course, Animal, as they work on releasing their first studio album with much antical humor with their label’s JR. A&R executive and manager, Nora, who’ll be played by comedian Lily Singh.

Whether the other famous Muppets will make an appearance is yet to be announced.  If anyone, it should be at least Kermit the Frog.

Disney+ released The Muppets Mayhem‘s description through an official press statement.

"After 45 years of rockin’ out, The Electric Mayhem goes on an epic musical journey to finally record their first studio album. With the help of a driven young music executive, Nora, the old-school Muppet band comes face to face with the current day music scene as they try to finally go platinum."

Puppeteers Bill Barretta, Matt Vogel, Eric Jacobson, David Rudman, Dave Goelz, and Peter Linz will provide The Electric Mayhem’s voices.  Bill Baretta, Jeff Yorkes, and Adam F. Goldberg (The Goldbergs) developed the series, which was a “dream come true“, according to Jonnie Davis, the President of ABC Signature.

A premiere date and the number of episodes are yet to be announced.

Last October, Disney+ launched the first-ever The Muppets Halloween special, Muppets Haunted Mansion, with an original soundtrack, spooky skits, and cameos by John Stamos, Darren Criss, Will Arnett,  Yvette Nicole Brown, and Niecy Nash.  The Electric Mayhem and their Muppet friends were part of the frightful but fun celebration.

The popular Disney streamer is also home to other Muppet productions such as their original limited series, Muppets Now, and the classic The Muppet Show.  For the younger audience, they can see their favorite Muppet characters as adorable, imaginative preschoolers in the Muppet Babies.
