Nancy Drew finally gave us the NACE scene we have been waiting for and the way it was handled was exactly what it needed to be. And while it may not have been what the shippers hoped for, it worked at that moment.

In episode 11 of Season 3, “The Spellbound Juror,” fans of Nancy Drew and Ace finally got to see a confirmation of at least one of our character’s feelings. Even as we have seen Nancy seemingly realizing that she had feelings for Ace, the two were never able to connect. And then Ace decided to step up and admit his feelings to Nancy.

Towards the very end of the episode, Ace takes the step he needs to let Nancy know that he has feelings for her. And while he tells her that he understands she has started something with Park, the FBI agent who has been helping the Drew Crew solve their current mystery, he also makes it clear that this is him trying to be honest with her.

So what did Nancy do? What did she say? Well, nothing. Her face shows the clear shock that she is in and then the two of them are interrupted by Ryan, who has interesting news.

Nancy Drew perfectly handles that NACE scene in “The Spellbound Juror”

However, even with Ryan interrupting them, the Nancy Drew writers handled this moment perfectly. The reason we say that is because it was honest and it was real.

If Nancy had reacted in any other way, it would not have been true to her character. And at the same time, it wouldn’t have been realistic. Nancy might have feelings for Ace, but she had no idea that he felt that way about her. Plus, she was trying to move forward and that meant finding something with someone else who also has feelings for her.

We might be NACE shippers, but that doesn’t mean we don’t like Nancy and Park (does that make them NARK or PANCY for their ship?) too. And together, these two have been building towards something that feels just as real as what we saw between Ace and Nancy.

So having Nancy looking shocked and maybe even a little bit like this is more of a nightmare than the dream we wanted it to just make sense. But of course, now we need to see what comes next.

We want to see how Nancy deals with this revelation and what this might mean for her and Park. And this is also important because Park was supposedly just in town until the murderer that the FBI is hunting is caught. If Park is only transitory, will that leave Ace and Nancy with a shot at being together because Park won’t be around?

Next. Nancy Drew proved that Bess might be just as good as Nancy with the clues. dark

We have a lot of questions and we want to know what’s next for Ace and Nancy and Park and Nancy. But what did you think? Do you think that scene was handled perfectly? What did you hope would happen? We want to know.
