The Witcher season 2, Lost in Space season 3 and more on Netflix in December

The end of the year is upon us, but that doesn’t mean that the constant stream of new Netflix titles is slowing down in any way. In fact, this December features multiple huge premieres, from the return of one of the streamer’s most popular series, the debut of what is sure to be an Oscar-nominated film, and a ginormous pile of holiday content, sure to warm even the Grinchiest of hearts.
The most highly anticipated title (for me, personally, anyway) is probably the return of fantasy drama The Witcher for its second season on December 17, which will see Henry Cavill’s monster hunter of few words attempt to forge a relationship with Princess Cirilla of Cintra now that the two have finally found one another. (And Ciri has stopped running through the woods, poor thing.)
Other big series landing this month include the (extremely long-awaited) third and final season of Lost in Space, the fourth season of YouTube turned Netflix hit Cobra Kai, and a second installment of the show everyone loves to hate-watch, Emily in Paris.
On the movies side of things, there are a ton of enticing new properties including several that will almost assuredly be part of the awards season discussion this year. Most notably, The Power of the Dog, which is directed by Jane Campion, stars Benedict Cumberbatch and is basically destined for a Best Picture nod. The Lost Daughter starring multi-award-winning Olivia Colman also seems like surefire awards bait, but don’t sleep on Leonardo DiCaprio’s latest Don’t Look Up either.
