The full trailer for Amazon’s upcoming adaptation of Robert Jordan’s mega-popular series The Wheel of Time is here – and full of the sort of high fantasy elements sure to get fans psyched for its November premiere.

Featuring dense internal mythology, a world of rich lore, and a cast of diverse, complex characters, the show is sure to spark comparisons to other recent big-name franchises like Game of Thrones. But though this story is clearly a twist on the traditional Chosen One narrative – here a mysterious being known as the Dragon Reborn who is destined to either destroy the world or save it – The Wheel of Time puts a fresh spin on the concept by offering up a quartet of possible heroes to choose from.

The trailer – and the series – largely centers on Moiraine Damodred, a member of the powerful all-female group known as the Aes Sedai, beings who can channel the One Power, which basically means use magic. She will journey to the small village known as the Two Rivers on her search for the Dragon Reborn, in an attempt to stop the Dark One from taking over the world.

There, she’ll eventually discover a group of five young men and women, all of whom could be this prophecied Chosen One, and take them on a journey that will ultimately span a continent, battling Trollocs and other dark creatures along the way.

Gone Girl’s Rosamund Pike headlines the cast as Moiraine, and she’s joined by Criminal Minds’ Daniel Henney as al’Lan Mandragoran, her Warder. (Aes Sedai and their Warders share complex, almost symbiotic relationships where they can experience one another’s feelings, including pain and exhaustion.)

The rest of the show’s young heroes – who all have destinies that will unfold over the course of the season –  include Madeleine Madden as Egwene al’Vere, Josha Stradowski as Rand al’Thor, Zoe Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, and Barney Harris as Mat Cauthon.

The Wheel of Time will officially premiere on Friday, November 19 with the first three episodes. New installments will subsequently drop weekly through the season finale on December 24. But the adventure won’t end there: The Wheel of Time has already been renewed for a second season, which is currently in production.
