Glee alumnus Darren Criss will lead a Queen-themed singalong, titled The Queen Family Singalong, in honor of the band’s 50th anniversary.  The event is set to air Thursday night, November 4th on ABC.

Joining Criss will be an ensemble of musical talents to bring their unique sound to the classic  Queen tracks, including the current Queen frontman and singer, American Idol star, Adam Lambert.  He’ll most like to perform the closing number to finish the singalong.

Others joining in will be Jojo Siwa and Orianthi (“We Will Rock You“) Fall Out Boy (“Under Pressure“), Derek Hough and Alexander Jean (“Another One Bites The Dust“), Miss Piggy accompanied by Jimmie Allen of whom will put their rendition of a “Crazy Little Thing Called Love“, acapella group Pentatonix and rock group OneRepublic who will share their covers on iconic songs “We Are The Champions” and “Somebody To Love.”  As the event will draw closer to the date, more talented performers will be added to the lineup.

Moreso, in celebration of the reopening of New York Broadway, performers from the Disney plays Aladdin and The Lion King will be a part of the broadcast.

Queen was first banded in 1970 by Freddy Mercury, a British singer of Indian and Zazibari descent.  His onstage flamboyant and larger-than-life performances became one of the band’s trademarks and became an ally for LGBTQ groups, given that Mercury himself didn’t push the LGBTQ agenda nor spoke about his orientation.

The original Queen frontman passed away at the age of 45 from AIDS complications in 1991. Following his death, several tributes were made to honor Mercury, included the 2018 theatrical musical biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, that smashed box office records.  For his near-portrayal of the late singer, actor Rami Malek won an Oscar for Best Actor.
