Roswell is giving us new relationships and is that a spark between Kyle and Isobel?

Roswell has proven time and time again that at its core, it is all about the relationships that these people have with each other. And in the latest episode, “Angels of the Silences,” not only did we see two old romances rekindled, but there was a new triad formed, and even a possible spark that we never saw coming.

In fact, it is hard to deny that in “Angels of the Silences” the entire premise of the episode was about love. Whether that is the love of friends for each other, romantic love, or even familial love, it all comes back to this one core emotion. It is a driving force for so many of us. And on Roswell, love is often the thing that makes or breaks our characters.

For this latest episode we finally got to see Alex and Michael (MALEX FOREVER) together and helping each other. And when I say together, I mean these two were actually in a healthy relationship where they seemed to realize that they are better together than apart. (Please tell me I wasn’t the only one screaming at the TV in joy!)

Even Liz and Max had a moment where they were able to express that the love that they have for each other has never gone away. It was a solid moment and one that was all too short. But, it was also a necessary scene as it didn’t take long for us to see just how easy it was for Liz to determine that she was now with Jones instead of Max (after their brief separation that is).

Roswell proves that at the heart of the series, it is all about the relationships

Beyond the two renewed romances, we also learned that Michael, Isobel, and their new alien friend Dallas are meant to be a triad. Together, they will be the ones to put a stop to Jones. And if that wasn’t enough of surprise, we also learn that Dallas will be tasked with killing Max if they aren’t able to stop Jones. (Talk about a bad way to make friends and integrate into your new family.)

But the most epic thing in this entire episode (for me), was seeing Kyle Valenti with Isobel Evans. They may not be in a relationship, but something has shifted between these two. In fact, something has shifted so much that it actually looks and seems like Kyle has a thing for Isobel.

We love Kyle. He has been the heart of the show and the conscience more times than not. But in this episode, he proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he will protect the people he cares about no matter what. And one of the people he cares about is clearly Isobel.

I can’t be the only one who watched his heart basically break when Isobel went off to flirt with her current romantic interest. His face gave him away, and if nothing else, can we just point out that Michael Trevino is a brilliant actor who has us sold on the idea of Kyle and Isobel.

This episode of Roswell was brilliant. And while it wasn’t perfect, it was pretty close to it.

dark. Next. Has Murphy actually figured out something to save Jess on In the Dark?

But, what did you think of this episode of Roswell? Did you find it to be all about the relationships? What was your favorite moment? And do you agree about Kyle and Isobel? Let us know in the comments.
