If there is one pairing we have been missing in the third season of Roswell New Mexico, it would have to be Michael and Alex – MALEX. It’s the ultimate ship on the CW and the one we wait for every single episode.

And in the eighth episode of Roswell, “Free Your Mind,” we finally got these two together again. Not only did they find themselves working together to save Max (technically), but we also saw the one thing we have been waiting for even longer than just the last eight episodes.

We finally got another Malex kiss. Where it could have been awkward and messy, this was a sweet moment between these two men who have a world of hurt and anger in their pasts. And yet, for a change, it felt like these two were on the same page in so many ways.

But really, the thing about Michael and Alex that we love the most is just how perfect they are for each other. They balance each other in ways that are hard to express because it is truly all about seeing it to believing it.

Malex is back in Roswell New Mexico’s”Free Your Mind”

While Malex was clearly on and popping in this episode, it doesn’t mean these two are back together again or anything like that. It just means that finally these two are realizing that they make a good team. And right now, that is important.

When it comes to Michael, we know that he has a lot on his plate. Not the least of which is the fact that his father is the cause of the issues they are dealing with and that he has taken Max hostage (cue the Bodysnatchers). Plus Alex has his own familial issues, including the fact that he is trying to right the wrongs that his father created.

Basically, these two have a lot to deal with, but it just feels like if they are willing to work together for a change, maybe they make things happen. And if that means getting to see them kissing and accepting comfort from each other, then we are here for it.

We want all the Malex we can get. And this was definitely a nice start.
