The D’Amelio Show is a mix of reality show and educational content. Yes – it is a show that serves an educational purpose. Let me explain why. But first, let me tell you what The D’Amelio Show is about.

Who are the the D’Amelio’s?

Charli D’Amelio and Dixie D’Amelio are sisters that rose to fame through TikTok.  Charlie started on social media before her older sister and is known as the “TikTok queen” with over 124.4 million TikTok followers.  Her sister does not fall to behind with 55 million followers. Because the girls are under 21 years old, their parents play a large part in their career and also star with them on the reality show.

What happens on The D’Amelio Show?

For fans of the duo, who have not watched the Hulu series, you will be happy to know that many questions were answered. As someone who has basic knowledge of the sisters, I was a late 20-something in awe of how open they were to share their relationships, their struggles, and put most of their life of screen. It really was a reality show!

Charli and Dixie do not hide names or stories, including their experience being cheated on, but what resinated with me, was their willingness to share their mental health journeys.

Mental health on The D’Amelio Show

The sisters have never opened up about their mental health struggles. They, or any stars have never opened up on television to the extent they did. They opened up about having to go to therapy and having thoughts of self harm. That was all shown on the show. They filmed themselves deleting hate comments and having therapists check in on them periodically. The show did a great job interviewing those closest to them to get an outside perspective on their struggles. It chronicled how their mental health progressed and digressed (interchangeably) as their careers also progressed. It also never failed to stress the message to get help if needed.

While the sisters finished saying that they are at a better place, they expressed their mental health is an ongoing battle as they stay in the spotlight. The show however, is a must watch whether you are a fan or not.
