The Coterie gang has won another year at Freeform.  Following the season 3 finale, “Closing Arguments,” Freeform announced that Good Trouble would be returning for a fourth season.

The show’s original concept followed The Fosters’ main characters, Callie Adams Foster and Mariana Adams Foster, as they moved to Los Angeles for the next phase of their lives. But it did not take long for the show’s cast of characters to make a huge and exciting impression as the new ensemble took shape.

Season 3 included huge strides for every member of the main ensemble. Everyone had something going for them in the third season, whether it be a story questioning their professional career, a romantic plotline, or personal character growth. The finale, “Closing Arguments,” touched on many of the season’s biggest questions while leaving several important cliffhangers for fans to eagerly wait for answers to.

Season 4 will have the chance to answer unresolved questions and expand storylines along with character developments.

Good Trouble  thrives on discussing social issues, and another season gives them time and room to do more of that. One of the bigger storylines of the season followed Gael dealing with that he will be a father, and season 4 could see Isabella deliver their child. Gael and Isabella’s relationship is complex, and showing them as parents may offer a new side to both of them.

Dennis, who had spent time trying to determine what he is passionate about, finally found a calling in wanting to use his food truck to bring meals to the parents of sick children in hospitals. Remembering his personal experience helped Dennis find a way to use that to help others.

“Closing Arguments” also hinted at a definitive change in Callie’s life if she chooses to go through with it. Leaving her law firm would place Callie in another professional change, and she has already changed jobs numerous times throughout the series. However, perhaps this is the opportunity Callie needs to make strides toward being the lawyer she wants to be.

Meanwhile, Mariana appears to have made things right with her friends, but will her desire to ruin another company put her own career in harm’s way?

Good Trouble has earned another season as its stories and characters have allowed it to be more than just a successful spin-offGood Trouble is truly a successful show of its own, and another season will only prove how the show thrives in portraying life’s complications.
