Another exciting actor has been announced for the third season of Batwoman! Thanks to TVLine, we’ve learned that Nick Creegan will be joining the cast for season 3 and will play a figure that just might be potentially connected to a very familiar Gotham face.

Creegan has been cast as Marquis Jet, the son of business tycoon Jada Jet (Robin Givens). Marquis is described as a “sexy playboy” who is “too charming for his own good and wields his power with a ne’er do well attitude”. That sounds a bit like Bruce Wayne, I’m not going to lie. Plus his attitude to make a difference in Gotham – he may have another secret identity.

However, who is this character that Marquis could be related to? As we learned in season 2, Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) currently donning the cowl of Batwoman, believed that her birth mother died in childbirth. At least, she did until Alice (Rachel Skarsten) revealed that no, her mother is actually very much alive and well.

Nick Creegan joins the cast of Batwoman season 3 but just who is he playing?

Fan theories are pointing to Jada Jet being Ryan’s mother, which would make Marquis and Ryan siblings. None of that is confirmed as yet but the show values love and family, so with season 3 finally diving headfirst into Ryan’s past, they could very well turn out to be related. It’s going to be a big family affair if the Jets are related to the vigilante.

We also know that Marquis will not be the love interest of Ryan Wilder because she, like her predecessor, is a lesbian. While we don’t know who her love interest will be yet – it’s going to be incredibly exciting to see what the showrunners do with a POC LGBTQIA+ main character. It’s just such a relief that they’re keeping the character queer.

With most of the Kanes out of the picture for now, it’s going to be time for Ryan Wilder to truly shine. Hopefully, she can have Creegan’s Marquis in her corner and not turn into a villain, right?
