Passionflix to start filming Tara Sivec’s Seduction and Snacks

Passionflix announced that they will be starting production on their adaptation of Tara Sivec’s Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers #1). Optioned in 2019, the laugh out loud romantic comedy will be a fun new addition for the romance streaming service that offers dedicated adaptations of romance novels to the fans who love them.

Passionflix has tapped Colleen Davie Janes to direct the project, and casting announcements are forthcoming.

Claire is the kind of woman who knows she doesn’t want kids, but when she meets a guy at a frat party she gets more than he bargained for. Unfortunately, she left before he woke up and never got his name, so when she ends up pregnant she’s on her own.

Carter wakes up and can’t find the woman he spent the night with, but her memory never leaves him and he thinks about her all the time. Imagine his shock when he moves to a new town for work and finds the mystery woman serving drinks at a local bar.

Seduction and Snacks is a raunchy romp of a romantic comedy that never fails to make a joke about anything and everything. From the perils of being pregnant to helping a best friend sell sex toys, there is nothing sacred in this book and there are plenty of true laugh-out-loud moments.

Seduction and Snacks will be a unique, fun addition to Passionflix

The 2012 Goodreads Choice Award Nominee for Best Romance is everything the description says and so much more. Sivec warns readers that Seduction and Snacks might be too much for the faint of heart in the book’s description:

"This book is not to be taken seriously. Do not read this if you don’t have the sense of humor of a 15 year old boy. Do not read this if you ARE a fifteen year old boy. This book is totally crude and inappropriate and uses the word “vagina” a lot. No, I mean A LOT. If you don’t think people who are drunk are hilarious, you shouldn’t read this book. You probably shouldn’t read this book if you aren’t drunk yourself. You should probably just put this book down and get drunk. You may think that no one in the world talks like the people in this book, but they do. They are called “people who are funny and inappropriate”. This book is completely unrealistic; the author is aware of that fact and did it on purpose."

Passionflix optioned Sivec’s book in 2019 and they’re moving forward on the project. The pandemic put a major dent in the production calendar for the romance streamer, and COVID-19 safety protocols make it challenging to film. Thankfully it’s getting easier to film as more people are getting vaccinated.

There’s no question that CEO Tosca Musk and her team are eager to get working on their impressive list of optioned books. Wicked was released on May 27, Gabriel’s Rapture just wrapped filming and is heading into post-production and fans are eagerly awaiting news on Driven season 2.

Seduction and Snacks will be a wonderful addition to the Passionflix library and we can’t wait to start dream casting the roles of Claire, Carter and of course the true star: Claire’s precocious four year-old, Gavin.
