Fans are eager to see Robin join the DC Extended Universe in The Batman. While no casting decision has been made, Timothee Chalamet has emerged as a favorite among fans and it’s easy to see why.

While DC continues to dominate on the small screen with hits such as The CW’s Arrowverse franchise or HBO Max’s various acclaimed titles, the future of the DC Extended Universe isn’t quite as certain.

Following the release of Zack Synder’s Justice League cut, fans have been yearning for the studio to restore the Synderverse. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. and DC seem adamant in moving forward full-speed ahead with the Synderverse vision in the rearview mirror in having its many upcoming films continue with their currently planned storylines. There’s no telling what is ahead, but one franchise fans can very much look forward to is Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

In the upcoming film, Reeves will look to introduce audiences to the newest cinematic version of Batman with Robert Pattinson suiting up as the Dark Knight in a franchise that has already inspired an HBO Max companion series designed to expand upon the world to be introduced in the film.

With the expansion of the franchise already underway, it seems like only a matter of time before Batman enlists the help of his long-time sidekick and partner in crimefighting: Robin. Although Christopher Nolan’s franchise hinted at the potential of Robin’s introduction, not since Chris O’Donnell’s turn as the Boy Wonder have we seen Robin appear alongside Batman in a live-action film. However, that could all change in The Batman.

There are countless young actors who would be perfect for the role, but one who has many fans buzzing is Dune heartthrob Timothee Chalamet. While we’ve not yet seen Chalamet break into the superhero genre, it’s not to see why fans are eager for him to suit up as Robin after checking out one artist’s stunning new fanart!

What Timothee Chalamet could look like as Robin in The Batman

Clearly inspired by the fandom’s cries to see Timothee Chalamet as Robin, talented young artist smartsheep.art has provided us with our first glimpse of what Chalamet could look like if given the chance to suit up as Robin in The Batman.

In the stunning new art, Chalamet is transformed into the Boy Wonder with the only thing missing from the photo being Robin’s signature mask — but we can’t complain as it allows us to instead see Chalamet in all his glory. Clearly, the artist was inspired by Robin’s iconic costume as the fanart remains true to the character’s comic book suit right down to its red and green color scheme.

Not only does the image offer up our first glimpse at what Chalamet could look like as Robin, but we also get a sneak peek at his potential partnership with Pattinson’s Batman! If the image is any indication, Pattinson and Chalamet would make for quite the dynamic duo and we could honestly see the pair making an incredible Batman and Robin pairing!

Will Timothee Chalamet play Robin in The Batman?

At this time, there have been no reports regarding the casting of Timothee Chalamet, or any actor for that matter, in the role of Robin for Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman film. That said, there have been a lot of rumors suggesting Chalamet could perhaps be tapped to play Robin in the new franchise.

Sometime back, a casting report began circulating that the film was looking for actors with Circus skills. This immediately led to speculation that the casting call was a strong indication the film would be introducing or, at the least, setting up the arrival of Robin.

Should Reeves look to cast to the role of Robin, there’s no denying he’d be a perfect fit for the role and it seems he’s been manifesting it since he was a kid. As he once revealed in an interview with Variety, he loved the character so much he used to go by Robin when growing up.

It seems like only a matter of time before Chalamet joins one of the superhero franchises in the works. Regardless of whether that role comes via something in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or as part of the DC Extended Universe, we’re more than ready to see him suit up with a role in a superhero film!
