Fans want to see Timothee Chalamet join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and we have our first look at what he could look like as Wiccan in Doctor Strange 2.

While all eyes might be on Spider-Man: No Way Home and the film’s likelihood of introducing the Spider-Verse through the returns of several fan-favorite actors from past Spider-Man films, Marvel is cooking up an equally compelling adventure with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Although Marvel has kept fans in the dark for the most part in opting not to reveal too much about the plot of the film, we know the follow-up to 2016’s Doctor Strange will see the returns of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, Benedict Wong as Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo and WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch.

The film is also rumored to feature the returns of fellow WandaVision characters Billy and Tommy, who seemed to be calling out to their mother in the end-scene of the breakout Disney Plus original. While the characters were played by younger actors in the Disney Plus series, fans seem eager to meet the more matured versions of the character in Doctor Strange 2

Who is Wiccan in the Marvel Universe?

For those unfamiliar with the character, Wiccan was first introduced in 2005’s Young Avengers #1.

In the comics, Wiccan (also known as Billy Kaplan) is the son of Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch. While his brother Tommy aka Speed possesses powers similar to his uncle Petro Maximoff aka Quicksilver, Billy’s abilities are similar to those of his mother’s making him a powerful witch with magical abilities.

While the character is still relatively new compared to other Marvel heroes, Wiccan has appeared on many teams including the Young Avengers and New Avengers. Additionally, he’s made a major impact as a prominent LGBTQ+ character in the Marvel comics.

What Timothee Chalamet could look like as Wiccan in Doctor Strange 2

As speculation continues to grow over the role Scarlet Witch will play in Doctor Strange 2 and what the WandaVision finale’s closing scene in which Wanda heard Billy and Tommy calling out to her, fans are curious to see whether Marvel will look to introduce aged up versions of Wiccan and Speed in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Should Marvel choose to age up the characters in Doctor Strange 2 as part of a possible play to assemble the Young Avengers for a future MCU project, there seems to be a significant push from fans for Timothee Chalamet to join the MCU as the new Wiccan.

Thanks to artist Valentin Romero, we no longer have to imagine what Chalamet could look like in the role thanks to the artist’s rendering of Chalamet as Wiccan.

Using the character’s comic book likeness as its inspiration, Romero envisions Chalamet in the role of Wiccan with a truly inspired piece of fan art that beautifully captures the likeness of the character with a comic accurate look. Not only does the artist capture Wiccan’s signature costume, but the magical elements give us the chance to see what Chalament could look like in action with concept art so well executed it almost looks like a still from the project!

Will Timothee Chalamet join the MCU in Doctor Strange 2?

Currently, Marvel has not announced any major cast additions to the Doctor Strange 2 cast and it remains unclear whether Timothee Chalamet will join the MCU as Wiccan — or any Marvel character for that matter.

However, there are rumors that Marvel has been eyeing Chalamet for a role in the MCU ever since he lost out on the role of Peter Parker. In fact, a new rumor suggests Marvel is looking to bring him into the fold in an unspecified role.

Could that role turn out to be that of Wiccan? Only time will tell, but one thing that is certain is Marvel seems set on finding a way to bring Chalamet into the MCU one way or another.
