Loki, Luca and everything else coming to Disney+ in June 2021

The world is officially starting to reopen, but that doesn’t mean Disney+ will be releasing its clutches on its subscribers anytime soon. In fact, the streamer has plenty of new content planned for the coming months. Its June lineup alone is enough to get film and television lovers excited about spending a few nights on the couch — yes, even if the weather is gorgeous that day.

Probably the most exciting release headed to Disney+ in June is Marvel’s Loki, a series that will see the franchise’s God of Mischief embarking on a chaotic journey through time and space in an attempt to fix the messed-up timelines caused by the events of Avengers: Endgame. The series follows on the heels of WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and it has big shoes to fill in that regard. Fortunately, with Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson in its lead roles, it will probably exceed expectations.

It’s not just Marvel fans who have new content to look forward to in June either. If Star Wars is more your wheelhouse, Lucasfilm’s newest animated series, The Bad Batch, will continue dropping weekly installments every Friday. As the show inches closer and closer to its conclusion, the group of misfits is subject to face increasingly bigger problems. If the franchise’s previous animated series are anything to judge by, viewers can expect to be taken on quite a ride.

Families interested in staying in and hosting movie night will also be happy to hear that Disney’s highly anticipated Luca will premiere on the streamer later this month. Set on the Italian Riviera and following two kids who are secretly sea monsters, this gorgeously animated film is poised to add yet another success to Pixar’s collection. If one magical film isn’t enough, though, Raya and the Last Dragon will also arrive on Disney+ in June — this time available to everyone, not just those paying for Premier Access.
