The hit Hulu series Shrill, starring and executive-produced by Saturday Night Live star Aidy Bryant, has announced the arrival of its third and final season with a shiny new trailer. The series follows Bryant’s Annie Easton, a journalist who goes on a path to find her voice, loosely based on Lindy West’s memoir of the same name.

The previous season left off with Annie finally dumping her on-again-off-again man-child boyfriend, Ryan (Luka Jones) as she realized she deserved more out of her relationship, while her best friend, Fran (Lolly Adefope) jumped into a new relationship of her own.

See what the final season has in store with the trailer below:

True to the show’s tone, Shrill‘s final season will continue to explore Annie’s relationship with her body while not making it a central issue or the only notable trait about her character.

One of the most revelatory things about the show is the fact that it’s truly body positive, showing women of all shapes and sizes embracing themselves as beautiful, sexy, and willing to stand up to the fatphobic world around them.

Additionally, while Annie had been selfish and focused on her “relationship” with Ryan in previous seasons, it appears from the trailer that, even while she’s dating around, she’s going to be spending much more time with her female friends, with more screen time given to steller standouts Patti Harrison and Jo Firestone as Annie’s coworkers.

As seen above, the legendary John Cameron Mitchell returns as Annie’s boss, and wannabe mentor, Gabe, with Ian Owens also returning as Annie’s sweet and warm “work husband” Amadi.

In many ways, it feels like the show is just getting started, making the news of its impending end all the more upsetting and bittersweet. But we trust a team as good as the folks behind Shrill will pull off a satisfying conclusion.
